Le riche producteur de cinéma Gordon Bagley souhaite épouser Ethel St. John, l’actrice principale de son dernier film. Ethel, quant à elle, est amoureuse d’Arthur Young, le héros de la dernière production de Bagley. Le tournage du film commence, mais lors de l’avant-première, le résultat s’avère désastreux. Ethel part alors avec Arthur, tandis que Gordon s’enfuit en courant sur un décor de cinéma tournant.
