Chaque jour en France, trois personnes se donnent la mort parce qu'elles n'arrivent plus à rembourser leurs prêts. Claudine Schnegg est l'une de ces victimes. Dans une société d'abondance où la tentation est omniprésente, les organismes de crédit, mais aussi la grande distribution, recourent à des techniques toujours plus subtiles pour attirer les consommateurs dans le piège des emprunts faciles. En 2010, la loi Lagarde visait à protéger les emprunteurs en encadrant notamment les crédits "revolving", ces prêts renouvelables à taux très élevés, présents dans 90 % des cas d'endettement. Mais les publicités agressives et les pratiques mensongères persistent.
