Mon père avait raison
« Mon père avait raison » est, sans doute, l'un des 3 ou 4 chefs d'oeuvre de Sacha Guitry. En prenant pour thème la famille, il traite en fait des problèmes humains essentiels : l'amour, la transmission, l'éducation et la société. Il le fait avec un brio et une humanité magnifiques. Adolphe, le grand-père, va transmettre à Charles, le fils qui lui-même transmettra à Maurice, le petit-fils, les secrets de son bonheur face à la vie. Comment le fils et le petit-fils vivront-ils ses conseils ? C'est tout le sujet de la pièce, tour à tour drôle et émouvante. Un véritable divertissement léger mais aussi une pièce « philosophique » très profonde. La pièce fut créée pour et par Lucien et Sacha Guitry... Aujourd'hui - pour célébrer l'année Guitry (1885-1957) - une autre lignée d'acteurs de père en fils, Claude, fils de Pierre Brasseur et père d'Alexandre rejouent cette pièce drôle et émouvante.
