Tainted Canvas suit l'histoire de Rayo, une artiste nigériane vivant à Londres qui essaie de réussir sa vie d'immigrée millénaire. Lorsqu'elle reçoit un appel de sa tante au Nigéria lui annonçant que sa mère est à l'hôpital, Rayo est déchirée entre respecter les délais de sa galerie et rentrer chez elle pour affronter les traumatismes qu'elle a fuis au départ.
