Un regard bouleversant sur le difficile passage à l’âge adulte d’un jeune homme. Jim (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), élève de terminale, vit sa première histoire d’amour avec Ann (Sydney Park), alors qu’ils sont sur le point de partir à l’université. Au même moment, les parents de Jim (Diane Kruger et Jeffrey Donovan) doivent faire face aux retombées familiales de la crise financière.
