Tenu à peine 18 jours après les attentats du 11 septembre, Farm Aid 2001, un concert pour l’Amérique, a célébré la solidarité, l’innovation et le dur labeur des agriculteurs familiaux pour que l’Amérique reste forte. Farm Aid a été fondé en 1985 par Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp et Neil Young dans le but de sensibiliser le public au sort tragique de l'agriculteur familial américain. Ce concert reflète l’esprit d’un événement historique de 2001. Interprété le 29 septembre 2001 à Noblesville, dans l'Indiana, ce concert à guichets fermés a rassemblé une programmation composée de stars telles que son fondateur, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp et le dernier membre du conseil d'administration de Farm Aid, Dave Matthews. Arlo Guthrie, les Doobie Brothers et Martina McBride se sont également produits, tous trois qui ont donné des spectacles mémorables pour démontrer leur engagement envers le fermier familial américain.
