Les diamants du Canada
Dans ce court métrage documentaire, René Bonnière et Pierre Perrault reviennent sur les écrits de Jacques Cartier, qui croyait avoir vu des diamants près de Cap-Rouge lorsqu’il vint dans la région à l’automne 1541 abriter ses bateaux pour l’hiver. Il ne s'agissait pas de véritables diamants à proprement parler, mais bien des trésors que comptaient la région au sens figuré : les paysages, les gens qui y habitent, leur artisanat, leur art, les mines de fer, les nouveaux villages qui s'érigent tout autour. À travers ce récit poétique, les cinéastes revisitent un pan de notre histoire. Ce film fait partie de la série documentaire intitulée Au pays de Neufve-France.

Researched in Chornobyl, the series is a product of memories, history, pop culture and technical experiments to create visual representations of invisible forces.
