Le Garrec et Pontoiseau, les deux contrôleurs du train, l’interpellent car, dans sa hâte, elle n’a pas composté son billet. Tandis qu’ils tentent de lui expliquer la situation dans un anglais très approximatif, une passagère avocate, Me Mimi de Saint-Marc, prend parti pour la jeune fille. Le ton monte et l’avocate entraîne sa nouvelle amie à Baugé où elle doit plaider la cause d’un marin de l’île d’Yeu, Marcel Petitgas, accusé à tord d’avoir molesté un automobiliste.
