Hijiriko s'enfuit du bar où elle travaille avec de l'argent et une voiture qui ne lui appartiennent pas. Pendant ce temps, Jiro Katagiri prépare un mauvais coup avec ses amis gangsters et finit par s'enfuir avec tous leurs gains mal acquis, ce qui ne leur plaît pas du tout. Les deux marginaux se rencontrent après un accident de voiture et se retrouvent bientôt sur la route ensemble dans une (autre) voiture volée. Il ne faut pas longtemps avant que la police s'intéresse aux crimes, et bien sûr, les gangsters sont sur les talons de Jiri ; ce qui signifie que les deux doivent fuir à travers le Japon par tous les moyens nécessaires.
