Kir revient de la guerre en Tchétchénie. Il lui manque une jambe mais il est vivant. Il s’était enrôlé pour gagner assez d’argent pour épouser Tatyana. Mais maintenant qu’il est revenu, il se sent éloigné d’elle, et de tous ce qu'il avait connu. Kir est encore hanté par ses expériences de Tchétchénie, et les décès tragiques de ses deux amis. Les fantômes de ses deux camarades tombés commencent à lui apparaître.
