En l'an 2034, après que la destruction de la couche d'ozone eut rendu la Terre inhabitable, des explorateurs canadiens se lancent à la recherche d'une nouvelle planète pouvant accueillir l'espèce humaine. Cinq ans plus tard, le capitaine Patenaude et ses coéquipiers, Brad, Valence, Flavien, Petrolia, Bob et l'androïde Serge, n'ont toujours rien trouvé. À la suite d'un incident fâcheux provoqué par Brad, un scientifique retors qui conteste le leadership du capitaine, les explorateurs se retrouvent sur la planète Esthétika où ils doivent lutter contre des clones d'eux-mêmes, entre autres choses. Heureusement, ils y font aussi la rencontre d'un devin qui leur indique où trouver une planète susceptible d'accueillir les humains. Mais celle-ci recèle des secrets inattendus qui mettront en danger Patenaude et son équipage.
