À l'approche de Noël, une délégation politique italienne, emmenée par le Premier ministre, effectue une visite officielle en Hongrie. Outre remplir ses obligations politiques, le Premier ministre a l'intention de passer du bon temps en secret avec une jeune membre du parlement accompagnant la délégation. Tout semble se dérouler pour le mieux, jusqu'à ce que les deux amants maladroits se retrouvent avec un mystérieux cadavre sur les bras dans la suite de l'hôtel de luxe dans lequel ils séjournent...
