11 mars 2011, 14h46. Un séisme de magnitude 9 engendre un gigantesque tsunami venant de l’océan Pacifique. Le nord-est du Japon est frappé par une vague de plusieurs dizaines de mètres qui va dévaster et détruire toute la côte sur son passage. Voici l’histoire des 50 employés de la centrale nucléaire de Fukushima, coupés de toute aide extérieure, qui vont tenter au péril de leur vie d’éviter l’explosion des 4 réacteurs endommagés.
