Quatre scientifiques ne se connaissant pas, sont invités par un hôte dont ils ignorent l'identité, dans une maison isolée dans le but de résoudre une énigme. Arrivés sur place ils sont enfermés dans une pièce qui rétrécit petit à petit. Ils doivent rapidement trouver les liens qui les unissent s'ils ne veulent pas être écrasés.
