La ferme et son État est un portrait actuel des forces vives et des aberrations en agriculture au Québec. Nous avons suivi, pendant dix-huit mois, des jeunes agriculteurs (femmes et hommes) éduqués qui rêvent de faire une agriculture responsable, innovatrice et écologique, dans un système où ils ont peine à exister, alors que la réalité change sous nos yeux. Le film revendique cette nouvelle identité et une politique agricole qui tiendra compte de la réalité.
