1856, quelque part à l'Est. Jakub est un jeune homme récemment chassé de sa troupe de Cosaques pour s'être fait dérober son cheval. Au cours de cette attaque, Jakub a aussi perdu son frère, tué par un des voleurs de chevaux. Elias et Roman sont deux jeunes frères qui volent des chevaux, dont celui de Jakub... Ce dernier est déterminé, il veut retrouver sa monture et venger la mort de son frère...
