Yang Yang
Yang Yang, étudiante sportive de 20 ans, est à moitié française mais ne parle pas un mot de la langue maternelle de son père, qui a disparu peu de temps après sa naissance. Sa meilleure amie est Xiao-ru, une camarade de classe, mais également la fille de l’entraîneur. Lorsque la mère de Yang Yang épouse ce dernier, Yang Yang et Xiao-ru deviennent sœurs. Alors que Yang Yang a une nouvelle maison et enfin un père qu’elle respecte, des tensions naissent entre elle et Xiao-ru, la poussant à tout quitter précipitamment…
