Pour sauver son frère, un flic s'attaque à une bande de karatekas...Alors qu'un hold-up avec prise d'otages a lieu dans une bijouterie de Los Angeles, les gangsters réclament des pizzas, qui leur sont livrées par Sean Thompson, qui a vite fait de les maîtriser. Sean, flic d'élite et karateka, fait équipe avec Billie, une blonde qui n'a pas froid aux yeux. Il va devoir s'attaquer à un gros poisson : Dan Rhodes et sa bande de tueurs et voleurs, experts en arts martiaux. Rhodes élimine les indiscrets grâce à son fameux "coup qui tue", et est parvenu à convaincre Michael, le frère de Sean, à faire partie de sa bande. Depuis la mort de leur père, Michael, jaloux de son frère, frustré et mal dans sa peau, a mal tourné. Lorsque Sean le réalise brutalement, il parvient à infiltrer la bande, qui se cache sous le couvert d'une école d'arts martiaux. L'occasion d'un règlement de comptes à propos d'un trafic d'armes va permettre à Sean de remonter jusqu'à Rhodes...
