Chaque chanson est composée d’une prestation poétique constante, parfois inquiétante, avec des refrains chronométrés aux répétitions de phrase de chaque chanson, tandis que la guitare bourdonnant d’Alan Parker accompagne et se tortille autour de la voix résonante de Gainsbourg. La basse est grasse et groovy, la batterie facile mais stable, et l’utilisation périodique de cordes ou de vibrato riche rend ce court métrage comme un petit bijou sensuel.
