Menée par un joueur de football nigérian nommé Hakeem Olajuwon et le jeune Clyde Drexler, l'équipe des Cougars de l'Université de Houston a électrisé le monde du basket universitaire, tout en contribuant à la transformation de la discipline. Dans ce documentaire, le réalisateur Chip Rives nous raconte une fable véridique de gloire et de drame. Mais en couvrant l'ensemble de leur parcours, Rives se penche aussi sur la disparition énigmatique du joueur Benny Anders et l'amitié qui a uni les coéquipiers et co-capitaines Eric Davis et Lynden Rose alors qu'ils ont tenté de retrouver sa trace après plus de deux décennies de mystère.
