En 1978 dans un petit village du Bas-St-Laurent, alors que la mort tragique de Guy ébranle la famille Leblanc. Pendant de nombreuses années, la cause réelle de son décès est cachée à certains membres de la famille, dont son fils David. À son tour, celui-ci fonde une famille avec sa femme Marie. Il élève ses enfants, Laurence et Frédéric, avec tout son amour, mais porte au fond de lui un vague à l’âme persistant.
