Le documentaire Jeff Lowe's Metanoia retrace la vie et les exploits du légendaire alpiniste Jeff Lowe, à travers ses ascensions visionnaires dans le monde entier jusqu’à son combat contre une maladie neurologique incurable. Le terme « métanoïa » signifie un changement fondamental de pensée ou une transformation du cœur. En 1991, Jeff Lowe a ouvert une voie d'escalade inouïe, appelée « Metanoia », sur la face nord de l’Eiger en Suisse, un exploit qui a profondément changé sa vie. Ce film raconte cette aventure exceptionnelle, qui devient aussi une métaphore de son combat contre la maladie de Charcot (sclérose latérale amyotrophique) qui lui fait progressivement perdre toutes ses capacités physiques.
