Myriam est fille unique. Son père l'a élevé seul en lui racontant des histoires d'Algérie et en lui lisant le conte des «Mille et une nuits». Mais à la majorité, la jeune femme part s'installer à Toulon. Elle décide de poursuivre ses études après le baccalauréat là-bas. Avant de déménager, elle a une faveur à demander à son père, Mohamed. Elle souhaite que celui-ci héberge chez eux, Gaston, son petit ami aux yeux et cheveux clairs, le temps que le jeune homme parvienne à trouver un travail et un logement. Face à cette attente, en quelque sorte impossible pour un père, Mohamed se sent mal. L'équilibre affectif de cet artificier misanthrope est bouleversé...

Subsequently, Rogerson, another American, presents Cooper to Segura himself and so Rod can enter his organization. Here he discovers that the colonel tries to attract a certain number of Americans to use them in an attack against the president of a state of southern America and thus promote communist expansion. Segura soon discovers Rod's real identity and tries to get rid of him; but the agent manages to reverse the situation and kills Segura in a shoot-out.
