Un homme de 75 ans arrive de sa province pour rendre visite à sa fille installée à Moscou. Mais celle-ci est partie en mission et le vieil homme se retrouve avec son gendre qui a pris quelques jours de congé pour finir sa thèse. Les deux hommes ne se connaissent pas et leur cohabitation n’est pas simple tant leurs points de vue sur la vie diffèrent.
