Le matin du jour de l'inauguration du nouvel Hokage, Naruto, ce dernier est encore profondément endormi. Il fut ensuite réveillé brutalement par Boruto, frustré de voir sa petit-sœur, Himawari prendre trop de temps à réveiller son père en douceur. Pendant le petit-déjeuner, Hinata déclara se charger de récupérer le Haori du Hokage spécialement cousu à la main par la même couturière qui coud traditionnellement les haori de tous les Hokage depuis le Premier. Hinata demanda alors à Naruto de se charger d'emmener les enfants avec lui à la cérémonie. Finalement, Hinata arriva sur place avant Naruto dû à un incident s'étant produit plus tôt. En effet, Boruto et Himawari se disputaient en tirant d'une extrémités à l'autre la peluche de Himawari et finirent par la déchirer. C'est à ce moment que, folle de rage, Himawari éveilla son Byakugan tout en poursuivant Boruto pour se venger.

Cela les empêche de malaxer leur chakra et les rend impuissants. En prison, Naruto rencontre un ninja nommé Ryûzetsu qui lui parle de la Boîte du Paradis, une boîte légendaire qui date de l’époque de l’Ermite Rikûdo, et que Mui convoite. Elle aurait le pouvoir d’exaucer tous les voeux, et il semblerait que Mui ait besoin de Naruto pour l’ouvrir. Mais dans quel but ? Une chose est certaine, quelque chose ne tourne pas rond dans cette histoire…
