L'histoire se concentre exclusivement sur Utsumi Koaru, jouée par Kou Shibasaki. L'histoire se déroule avant qu'Utsumi ne parte s'entraîner dans l'Oklahoma, aux États-Unis, où elle arrête un suspect de meurtre qui insiste sur son innocence. Utsumi travaille avec sa collègue Toma pour lancer une nouvelle enquête visant à éviter une possible erreur judiciaire.
