Mille Baleines - Le combat de Greenpeace
En dépit du moratoire international décrété en 1986 sur la chasse à la baleine, le Japon reste l'une des trois nations, avec la Norvège et l'Islande, à les tuer et à en consommer la viande, en invoquant les besoins de la recherche scientifique. En 2007 et 2008, son quota de chasse était fixé à mille baleines dans les eaux protégées de l'Antarctique. Une exception combattue par Greenpeace qui, fidèle à sa politique de "sensibilisation créative", lance l'un de ses bateaux, l'Esperanza, à la rencontre d'une flotte de chasse japonaise - dont un navire-usine destiné à découper et à congeler la viande - afin de ralentir, sinon d'empêcher, la tuerie. À bord, la réalisatrice Angela Graas a filmé le voyage à la façon d'un journal de bord, plongeant dans l'intimité de cet équipage international d'activistes bien décidés à s'interposer "entre la baleine et le harpon".
