Au bonheur d'être enfin libres succède rapidement l'angoisse de l'abandon. Tous les enfants s'en remettent alors à Jimmy Neutron. Épaulé par son robot-chien, celui-ci va construire une machine pour voyager dans l'espace et se lancer à la poursuite des extraterrestres.
