Le plus muet des films muets de Maurice Pialat tant cette farce de patronage conçu pour la fête de fin d'année d'Olivetti, où le cinéaste est alors représentant, rend hommage sur fond de musique de jazz au burlesque (coursepoursuite, images en accéléré, mimiques et roulements d'yeux), dans un esprit anarcho-dadaïste proche du cinéma de René Clair (Entr'acte). À signaler que Pialat s'octroie le gag chaplinien du film : renverser le contenu de son verre dans son pantalon.
