L’incroyable maison de Pierre Loti (1850-1923) à Rochefort sera rouverte au public en juin 2025. L’occasion de revenir sur la vie romanesque de l’un des auteurs les plus lus et traduits de son temps. L’écrivain-officier, entré dans la marine à 17 ans, voyage autour du monde au rythme des affectations. Il construit, au fil de son œuvre littéraire, une mémoire sensible de la diversité des cultures au tournant du XXe siècle ; interrogeant les grands bouleversements géopolitiques de son temps. Le film se nourrit abondamment des mots de Loti lui-même, associés à une collection d’archives rares de l’époque.
