Lum apprend que son arrière-grand-père, que l'on croyait mort, a été retrouvé et vient de sortir de son sommeil après avoir hiberné pendant vingt ans. Lum se rend sur sa planète pour lui rendre visite. C'est alors qu'il lui confie que, 120 ans auparavant, il l'a promise à un habitant du Monde de l'Obscurité. Et de fait, peu de temps après, un étrange jeune homme du nom de Rupa apparaît à Tomobiki et enlève Lum sous le nez d'Ataru, après lui avoir glissé une bague au doigt…

Lum & her girlfriends are invited to Neptune by Oyuki. There she shows them her new business venture at a ranch of flying sherbets, birds capable of producing sherbet cones from their beaks. Unfortunately, the combination of being overworked and a hot summer day has made the sherbet extremely cranky, even from its refrigerated cage.
