Winnie est une jeune écrivaine qui tient un blog sur lequel elle parle de sa vie amoureuse sous le pseudonyme Luckless. Elle travaille également chez Mush, un site internet lifestyle. Sa patronne, Inga, ainsi que sa meilleure amie et collègue Kyra, l’encouragent à rencontrer un coureur de jupon et à raconter leurs rendez-vous sur son blog. Elle fait donc la connaissance d’Holden, un jeune agent sportif spécialisé dans le baseball. Lui aussi a été poussé par son patron, Ret, à rencontrer une jeune femme. Ret trouve Holden immature et veut qu’il lui prouve qu’il est capable d’avoir une relation sérieuse, avant d’accepter de lui laisser son poste de patron de l’agence. Le premier rendez-vous de Winnie et se passe très mal, ils n’ont aucune intention de se revoir, mais leurs patrons respectifs les poussent à se recontacter...
