Au Portugal, dans la nuit du 24 au 25 avril 1974, un soulèvement pacifique a mis fin au dernier gouvernement de l'Estado Novo, le régime autoritaire établi en 1933 par le dictateur António de Oliveira Salazar (1889-1970), ouvrant la voie à une démocratie pleine et entière : chronique de la révolution des œillets.
