Mari et femme médecins Paul et Kim Jordan besoin d'un changement radical. Affolé par la mort inexplicable de leur bébé, Paul (C. Thomas Howell) convainc Kim à abandonner leurs vies américaines et rejoindre une mission médicale en Thaïlande. Il semble être juste la distraction dont ils ont besoin, jusqu'au jour où Paul est enlevée par des trafiquants qui ont besoin d'un chirurgien pour opérer sur leur chef blessé. Kim est laissé seul dans un pays étranger, essayant désespérément de trouver son mari avec aucune preuve de ce qui s'est passé.
