Solidarnosc, la première brèche
Réunissant dix millions de Polonais, ouvriers, paysans, intellectuels et porté par le futur prix Nobel de la paix Lech Walesa, Solidarnosc a été un véritable séisme mondial. Pendant ses 16 mois d’existence légale, le premier syndicat libre du monde communiste a tenu l’opinion publique en haleine et a mobilisé les acteurs politiques internationaux à Washington, à Moscou, à Bonn et même au Vatican. Grâce à leur action, les femmes et les hommes de Solidarnosc ont mis à jour les faiblesses idéologiques, politiques, économiques, et mêmes militaires du bloc de l’Est en devenant en quelques mois un véritable contre-pouvoir redouté par le Kremlin.

The double interview is controlled and manipulated by a computer-generated severed hand which Maria describes as an object once discovered in the trash while working in the violent northern town of Mexicali. This CGI hand was in turn produced by Max, who was born with no arms, and sought refuge in computer-imaging as a means to operate and manipulate a digital reality.
