En Pologne, un procureur ambitieux réalise que les circonstances du meurtre d'une jeune fille dont le corps vient d'être retrouvé sur une plage rappellent celles d'un crime commis quinze ans auparavant. Lorsque son supérieur lui interdit de rouvrir le dossier classé, il décide de collaborer avec la mère de la victime, une juge qui n'a jamais vraiment réussi à reconstruire sa vie après la perte de sa fille. Unis par la volonté de découvrir la vérité, ils se lancent dans une enquête dangereuse qui les conduit jusqu'à l'une des boîtes de nuit du bord de mer contrôlées par la pègre locale.
