Une exploration insolite et vertigineuse des centrales nucléaires allemandes, vues comme un univers de science-fiction aux dimensions écrasantes. Le réalisateur Volker Sattel s’est glissé derrière les murs des centrales nucléaires allemandes et en filme le décor étrange. Des travellings répétés passent au scanner bâtiments et dispositifs de sécurité. Stations de contrôle étincelantes, sites de décontamination,machines à fumée, immenses entrepôts... : ce documentaire nous entraîne petit à petit dans un univers aseptisé où l’erreur est proscrite, le contrôle omniprésent et les dimensions surhumaines. La durée de vie des substances radioactives et la somme d’intelligence nécessaire pour contenir la puissance des plus petites particules donnent le vertige. Partagé entre l’ironie et l’envoûtement, le film dépeint cet univers écrasant comme “le monument inachevé d’un avenir glorieux qui continue de fasciner malgré ses failles et ses dangereuses contradictions”.

Each one they run into has their own set of interesting problems. The maintenance men soon discover that a positive review may be hard to come by. Fixing broken down items in the apartments is the least of their worries. Finally one of the maintenance men must win the contest, by any means.
